Gases industriales

Acetylene

Acetylene is a light, flammable fuel gas obtained by the reaction of calcium carbide with water. It is widely used in industrial and scientific applications due to its unique properties, such as its high flame temperature and calorific value.

Characteristics of acetylene

  • Neutral flame temperature (O₂): 3,150 °C.
  • Maximum calorific value: 14,100 Kcal/m³.
  • Density: Lighter than air (specific gravity 0.908).
  • Supply form: Steel cylinders filled with a porous mass saturated with acetone or DMF, ensuring safe handling.
